... at Devil's Tower, Wyoming. First image was made on the drive into the park, second image at sunset from the trail that circles the base. I was lucky enough to have agreeable clouds for both images. Later that night was an absolute deluge of rain that lasted for hours, followed by a morning so quiet you wouldn't believe that it ever rained there. Weird.

I love the second image - not the usual viewpoint composition of this formation and it looks nice. The patchy light in the first image is a pleasant view as well.

Awesome work Michael! Love those clouds in #1. Puffy clouds are always awesome in a photo. I like the golden light in #2.

I am at my daughters house in Northern Colorado a lot, so I have been making lots of trips to Devils Tower and the Badlands of South Dakota. Both are about a 5 to 6 hour drive, so it's easy to get up there. For years the Devils Tower was just this place of mystery, alien it sounded like. So I am enjoying these 2 images as they remind me I should get back up there this spring.

Nice light and composition in the second image. I think cropping out the darker clouds at the top might enhance the first image.

I thought I was going to like the cloud cropped out but after seeing it I think the cloud works. The dark foreground shadows seem out of place with the cloud snipped off the top.
