Chinle Formations, Northern Arizona

Hi everyone. I am new member of "Focalworld" and this is my first forum posting. I certainly welcome any comments. I must say this is a great and friendly site and am very happy Doug Sherman mentioned it to me.
Just about all of my photography is with the landscape and out of choice mostly New England and the Southwest. Way back when I shot almost exclusively with a 4x5 Wista field camera along with some 35mm. Like everyone else I converted to digital.
Over the past several years I have ventured into aerial drone photography and have been having a lot of fun. Although all the elements of landscape photography are still at play, new challenges emerge. The most exciting and interesting to me is the completely new perspective and composition possibilities a few hundred feet in the air makes.
A recent trip north of Cameron, Arizona provided me with a number of images several of which I have posted below.

Those are some beautiful scenes and welcome to the board! That first one is my favorite, I think due to the more varied color palette.

Stunning! What kind of altitude are you going up to for these images? I love aerial photography but can't afford to do this from airplanes.

Nice introduction.

Thanks Alan. Images were recorded in the 400-1000 feet range. These were all recorded with a DJI Phantom 3A quadcopter.

Hey Tom,

First off it's awesome to have you here. And it's great that Doug invited you in! It always warms my heart to hear that members are spreading the word about FocalWorld. :)

You have some nice work here, for me #3 and 4 are my favorites.

So with the Drone, how would you say you split your shooting time between the Drone and your regular camera?

Right now I do as much as I can with the drone. For me it's like getting for the first time to places and areas I have been before or have driven by because you couldn't see what you can from 400 feet up.
