Carrizo Plain National Monument

I recently went to San Luis Obispo, CA, for a week to attend a work event. On the way there, I took a short side trip to Carrizo Plain National Monument. It's several weeks after the apex of the superbloom so I missed the real show, but there was plenty of color during my visit. The purple owl's clover was out in force!

The purple is quite nice - and since the superbloom is over likely a lot less people around too. Looks like there is a bit of orange and red off to the right in the distance.

This makes for some real color. The clover seems plump and succulent
