Carlisle Cathedral

Carlisle is my local city 100,000 pop. It is very close to the Scottish border so became a strategic stronghold firstly for the Romans but then as a garrison for the English to either repel invasion from the North or to launch attcks on Scotland. It has an 11th century castle and this 12th century Cathedral. This is a tiny chapel at the back of the Cathedral. I liked the intimacy of the setting in this vast space. I waited for several months until I had weak sunshine coming through the windows at this end of the church. I decided to add a little "atmosphere" to the b & w version. c & c welcome. Ken

Hey Ken,

Very cool! Those old churches and cathedrals are so neat looking. The color version looks really sweet, but the B&W with the added mood really steals the show. I would never have known it was added if you hadn't said anything, great work with the processing.

I like the B&W but for me the color is the one I keep looking at. The state of preservation for that chapel is outstanding. Very nice shots - glad you were patient for the light.
