A bit of planning and rogue camping allowed me to be at the right place and time for a change. Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA. From the Island in the Sky overlook.

A very cool shot here. Love the sunrise colors in the clouds, and you have some wonderful layering with all of those canyons. Good job!

Are you seeing smoke from forest fires in this image? That red layer looks suspiciously like it is.

Not nice to breathe but the result in this case makes a great image. The layering of the ridge lines really adds a lot of depth to the scene and adds a nice glow to the sunrise.

Alan, there was no smoke or fires in the area. Sometimes they do enhance an image, but this is pure sunrise.

We have so much smoke up here in the NW our whole days are orange lately. I wasn't sure how far away we were sharing this with. Nice to hear there are places with real air.
