Canadian Rockies in Winter

After a wonderful week at a back-country ski lodge in the Selkirks (I'll do another post on that) I drove up along the Icefields Parkway for a few days of photography and skiing. It got down in the low teens at night, so I was glad to have two sleeping bags in my van.

Back in my 20s I spent many summers up there climbing, but had never visited in the winter. I love the mountains of WA, but the drama of glacier drapped peaks right along an easy driving road make this a must see for mountain lovers.

Super work Jim! Love the B&W of these. #1 and 2 are my favorites. Nice work with the stars in #2. When did you shoot these?

Beautiful, Jim. These look so good in B&W! You are 100% right in your description of this area. The Icefields highway, which I first visited in 1970, has always remained for me one of the great scenic highways - unmissable. (Kananaskis, off to the side is no mean show either!)
