Camp 13

Not sure which forum this belongs in, a landscape with people doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Well, it's a documentary of a pretty tough night camping in the backcountry of the Smoky Mountains. But mostly it, hopefully, shows that we should use whatever equipment is at hand to capture our images; sometimes it will surprise us with the results.

Taken years ago with a Kodak disposable film camera, processed by the local 1-hr mangler lab, scanned on a cheap flatbed scanner and then salvaged by PhotoShop Elements and it's one of my all time favorite images.

Thanks for looking...

Hey Mike,

Wow, that's some crazy camping! You can feel the wildness.

And you picked the perfect forum for this, and it's exactly why we have this Documentary/Journalistic Forum to document photos like these.

Thanks Jim, Camp 13 is one of my favorite campsites in the Smokies. Located on a high plateau and just 1/2 mile from one of the park's balds it's remote, about 6 miles to the nearest trailhead, quiet and has a near constant breeze... Mike

Yeah, and every time I give my friend grief over his red, fluffy booties :). In reality we were jealous, it was wet and cold.
