Breaking Up

This is an overhead drone shot of waves breaking over the lava shelf at the Tokatee Klootchman State Natural Site along US 101 sixteen miles north of Florence Oregon. There is no info where the name of this place came from on the Oregon Parks and Recreation web site other than a couple of sentences describing the spot. There is a Tokatee Creek just to the left of this scene but that wasn't highly photogenic from the air. Shot a few years back with an old Air 2 drone.

Thanks Jim - this view of breaking waves gets even cooler in videos. I have done some of those but I don't really like editing video all that much.

Thanks Michael - being up in the air above the break looking up at the shoreline is a completely different way to visualize waves and can be a lot of fun with good swells.

Thanks Jameel - the basalt shelf between Yachats and Florence has some really interesting places for shots like this one.
