Black Crowned Night Heron

I was walking around a local lake and spotted this night heron sitting on a log in the weeds on the shore of the lake. I stopped and grabbed this shot just before he took and flew to the other side of the lake. I am glad he set still long enough for to focus through the weed and get a decent image!

Thanks Alan, this guy stayed around and set there for several seconds and I got a couple of shots before he took off!
