Birds of Bulgaria

A few of the birds seen during a trip to Bulgaria. As we were traveling around it was difficult to get really good shots of some of the birds, but at least they were good enough for IDing them. A lot of them were 'lifers' which is always a bonus.

Avocet, Recurvirostra avosetta

Black-winged Stilt, Himantopus himantopus

Marsh Warbler, Acrocephalus palustris

Thank you Alan, I find Larks one of the difficult species to ID, so it helped to have a knowledgeable guide.

Austria, Australia, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Wales, Scotland, Czechia, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, South Africa, Lesotho, Kenya, The Gambia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia (Borneo), Fiji, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Korea, USA, Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica, Dutch Antilles (Bonaire), Grenada, St. Lucia, Tobago, Dominican Republic, Antigua, Jamaica, Barbados, The Bahamas, Hong-Kong.
There are probably more that I can't remember off the top of my head. Lots of them we've been to numerous times, like Kenya.
My bird life list is 1357 seen and 1188 photographed.

I met up with Joe Kayne for a couple of days of photography in the Monument Valley area. This is my favorite of the trip.
