Big Sur

Usually when I hear Big Sur, I think wide open vista photos. In this one though I went a bit more intimate. Once I saw those starfish on the side of the rock I tried hard to find a composition where I could fit them in. In this version I went with a faster shutter speed to freeze the power of the waves.

Nicely framed - I like the inclusion of the bright orange starfish. Looks like you might have a purple one in there too but they tend to blend in with shots like this. I do prefer fast shutter speeds for waves like this. Nice wave colors.

I have the exact same shot but with a long shutter speed, it will be interesting to see your take on that one.
