Big Rock, Little Tree

Here, again, is my favorite tree in Zion National Park. This Pinion Pine lives on the East Zion Plateau at around 6000 feet in elevation. Not only does the tree itself have a shapely figure, but it is also situated in an extremely photogenic location amidst the soaring sandstone walls. 665nm converted Nikon DSLR.

Thanks Jim. It's a very well known spot, maybe I could start making hats shaped like the rock and tree. I could then use the proceeds to finance future photographic endeavors! Thanks for the idea! Talley Ho!

Thanks Jameel. It's true rocks are bad IR reflectors. Gotta have foliage (at least some lichens or biocrust) to get decent response from color IR. And direct light helps color immensely!
