Big Horn Ram

I was at the Sheep Lake pull out in Rocky Mountain National Park, a few year ago when a group of about 6 big horn sheep were walking toward the road on the east side of the pull out. I grabbed my camera and the 50-500mm lens and hurried over the the east side of the parking area and grabbed about 6 shot before they crossed the road and into the trees. This ram was leading the group up an incline toward the road and got clear of trees long enoough for me to get a decent shot. This ram is in the process of losing his winter coat.

Definitely an appropriately named pullout :) Nice clear shot of this dude making his escape from your presence.

That's a very nice shot Larry. Good job on getting the camera ready and shooting!

Thanks Alan for your comments, they are very much appreciated! ;)
The park rangers had blocked the road to leave space for the sheep to cross the road, so that no people or cars would block their path! :)
