1. Ipsut Falls, Mt Rainer NP. I came through this area on an overnight trip around the NW corner of the park. I regret the direction I hiked (beyond exhausting!) but I don't regret having a lonely lunch break in this little canyon.

2. Cataract Creek Cascade, Mt Rainier NP. Taken the same day as the Ipsut Falls photo (#1). I balanced the camera on the log bridge and took a three-shot vertical pano to capture the expanse.

3. Mt Rainier Afternoon Light. As I was leaving the park via Chinook Pass, I couldn't help but pull over and enjoy the strong backlighting of the afternoon sun. I got out the zoom to isolate the crags and forest. A nice ending to my trip.

4. Drumheller Channels, Central WA. I had seen some photos of this area and it took some scouting to find it. There is a pullout and a trail but neither are signed. Some beautiful columns can be found in a small area.

5. Drumheller Channels Detail. I was mesmerized by the perfect shape of each column. And they seemed to go on forever.

6. Palouse backroad near Farmington, WA. The Palouse is my backyard. This was one of my favorites from this spring. The undulating road goes on forever.

7. Palouse Wheat Sunset. I was hoping for just a little bit of interesting light to end the day and it didn't disappoint. Kamiak Butte is in the distance.

8. Palouse River Fog. Enjoying a November morning on the Palouse. (And wishing for some snow!!)

9. Lone Tree against Skyline Drive, Palouse. Unfortunately this tree has since been cut down. This picture was taken just a few steps from #7...fantastic views all around from that location.

10. Canola Bloom, Palouse. I guess I have to include one of these since I live here. Got lucky with nice light and clouds to accompany the canola field.

I love your Palouse shots - I have visited that area a couple of times but haven't soaked up nearly enough of the place. I am not familiar with the Drumheller Channels. I need to look that area up as the columnar basalt in these shots looks quite interesting. Neat waterfalls in Mt. Rainier NP.

These are incredible Aaron! I really miss Mt Rainier, and your images make me miss it even more!

Like Alan I had never heard of Drumheller Channels. What a supper cool area, wouldn't expect to find that in Washington, though I guess those basalt columns could show up anywhere.

All are great, I will pick #1, 4, 8 and 10 as my favorites of this group.

I love 3, 5 and 8... The layers in 3 are great along with the details of 3. And 8 has moody vibes which what I love to capture when I have the opportunity to!

Very nice photos. Like the others, I love your shots from the Palouse. #7 is my favorite of those - I like the light on the more distant hills. I also really like #5 as it reminds me of my favorite part of exploring the Devil's Postpile in California.

These are all strong, but I especially like the palouse based images. I gravitate to #6, #7, and #10, with #10 really hitting it out of the park for me. Great stuff!
