Basalt

Hálsanefshellir cave is on the black sand beach near Vik, Iceland. It is a nice spot to shoot up into the ends of the basalt columns that make up the face of the cliff. Any thoughts are welcome.

That is a really neat abstract! Without you saying you looked up and shot, it would have appeared that these were laying horizontal not vertical.
