Outside of Photography I LOVE to workout and run. Every year my gym put on an event to help raise money for breast cancer. I missed last year but not this one. I also asked if they were ok with me shooting the event and Courtney one of the gym Owner (her husband is the other owner) said that would be awesome. I have no experience shoot events or really people much. This was so much fun and something I would like to get into...I love Crossfit and the community a gym can create and would love to dabble in Other area of photography. CC always welcome and advice to shooting a fast pace event such as these. I tried keeping a fast shutter...but there were some images that came out blurry...

A great cause Alisa, and good job documenting this. Shooting indoors and shooting people is a lot different from landscapes. You did good here, and hopefully you can shoot more indoor events to continue to improve.

Did you use a flash for these or just ambient light? I have never tried anything like this at all so I am not a useful source of knowledge on how to shoot such an event.

Great series, but image 3 intimidates me, it appears to be 135 pounds in a press or clean and jerk. Wow, I have my own bench and weights at home, but I lift nothing like that:)
