Ball of Bees

Honeybees. Without which, agriculture wouldn't exist...
I believe these are Italian Honeybees.
My friend Lauri raises bees on her spread in Castle Rock, Colorado. Sometimes in the spring a group gets forced out, or these may have been from somewhere else entirely... They were huddled in a tree about a half mile from the main hive area.

It's best to photograph bees in the morning while they are still cold and not moving much..

It was shot with a 70-200mm in the morning while it was cold out. It almost appeared that there was a covering of ice or dew around them.
