After 3+ days of driving I made it down to the NW New Mexico badlands but the wind is blowing hard enough to make today pretty much a wash. I did hike a couple of miles just to stretch my legs out but the blowing dust let me wanting a pair of googles to keep the sand out of my eyes. Tomorrow is supposed to be much nicer but I did grab a few of shots today anyway just because I could. Here is a teaser from the area I where I was hiking.

I didn't really get back into the nicer hoodoo areas before the wind forced me to beat a retreat back to my campsite.

C&C always welcome.

Hey Alan, that’s a nice beginning to your trip.

As to the wind and sand I have learned years ago to take clear safety glasses that wrap around, you can buy them for $15 at Home Depot. They are essential desert gear for keeping the eyes clear in windy weather.

Yeah - I have a box full of those safety glasses at home since they give them away with various flavors of power tools but of course not one pair with me. Hindsight is always so clear......

Is that a can of beans sitting on the rock at lower left? A tantalizing scene and shot that looks like a pile of dinosaur bones... Mike
