Do you prefer 850nm to the almost mandatory Hoya 720nm?

Was the CFA left in place by the conversion folks on your D610?

Michael, this is so cool! Love what you got with this backlighting. It reminds me I haven't gotten up to Tioga Pass this year.

I certainly prefer the 850 for b+w images as my example has a definite contrast advantage over a 720 converted to b+w. For color IR, my favorite was the 665 conversion. I wish I hadn't sold my 665nm Nikon d90 a few years back - I loved that camera!

They do not state if the CFA was removed in the process, but I'm guessing it was since the camera is about 2 stops slower than it was with visible. I think CFA removal is better for the UV shooters with naked sensors, not so much for 850 IR.
