Trying to predict the best time to travel to take Autumn foliage at peak colour is difficult. Leave it too late and you are left with bare branches, too early and you have lots of green. This year was perfect in some locations and too late in others but overall I had a wonderful time especially as I got 2 days with almost no wind leading to mist and stunning reflections. Loch Faskally is a reservoir for a hydro power station but it has been in place for long enough for the shores to look natural (1950). We were staying in a hotel a 10 minute walk away, so I was up at stupid o'clock and my wife was off to the hotel's spa an hour later for a run and a swim. Ken
This image was taken on our first morning, the others on the third but I left it to the end as it make the other images look pale. I have desaturated this image as it looked unnatural without some tweaking. Lots more to come including lots of waterfalls. Ken
