Arch in B&W

Later in the morning at The Alabama Hills, I went in search of this arch.
The sun was getting higher in the sky so the light was pretty harsh, so I had in mind a vintage style b&w.
I've heard of this arch referred to as the Boot, Rocking Chair, and Knight's Arch. Anybody know the proper name?

Hey Barry,

That's pretty cool of an arch. Not sure I have shot that before. I think I would like a true B&W rather then the sepia cast. The other thing is, since you are going Monotone or B&W, I would darken the sky to emphasize the wispy clouds.

Thanks for showing me this. I've heard of the Boot arch (or similar name) but never found it. I like what you did for mid day light there. Like Jim said a darker sky would give it the look we love and expect.

I think I'd prefer a tighter crop that puts more emphasis on the arch, eliminating the distracting sunlit tumbleweed in the foreground and Mt. Whitney on the right. The rocks make great leading lines into the arch.
