Applying landscape techniques to flower photography

We have had visitors staying with us for weeks and have been visiting locations that I would normally not visit. The weather has also been terrific for visits but not good for the garden with no rain for at least a month. This was a visit to Threave Gardens in South West Scotland. I was looking in the greenhouses and saw a chink of soft light falling on a very small flower and thought "if this was a landscape and I saw that light I would do this" I have used the new enhanced NR as I was hand holding a macro shot.

Very nice result with the macro image - I like your use of the light. Nice details for a handheld shot. The only problem with amazing blooming plants like the azaleas is the mess they leave behind when the bloom is done.

One of the nice aspects of having visitors I have noticed is it can get me to go back to places I had been before, but hasn't been to in a while.
