Domestic house cats are highly skilled predators. This one and keeps both of those beautiful eyes on my bird feeders as he hides behind cactus and desert vegetation.
Pretty cat - but not one that is dependent on your local avian population as a food source.....
After having a number of cats through the years our last few cats have been strictly indoor pets. Our current specimen can watch the birds all she wants through windows and we have lots of feeders out where they will be easily visible for her viewing pleasures.
I like how his colors match the desert environment, no small advantage for the hunt!
We have birdfeeders too and the occasional casualty happens every once in awhile due to our own feline hunter. I was very dismayed when she caught a beautiful female cardinal last week. Typically when she wants to go outside I cover up the main feeder. It has worked to reduce kills this winter since she doesn't spend a lot of time outside but I don't know what we'll do this summer.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
