Another White Pelican

Another White Pelican captured at a local lake. He was one of about 15 birds swimming near the shore of the lake and starting to do preening. This one was by himself and gave me a great pose

Neat image. The protrusion on the beak is a breeding feature. It has a name but I forget

Hey Larry, you are really catching some great shots of the Pelicans. They are such a cool bird. A few times in SoCal, I have been up on a cliff and been able to shoot down on whole groups of them that soar by down below.

Sounds Great Jim: I grew up in SoCal and spent a lot of time at the beach. I don't remember seeing any White Pelicans, only the brown pelicans. I have not been able to get as close to the brown pelicans out there like I have with the white ones here.
