I came across this shot in my archives of another eagle that I captured as it took a duck.

Wow, I have heard of eagles taking ducks, but have never actually seen it. This is a great catch, for you and I suppose the eagle. Look how deeply the talon are buried.

I used to think Bald Eagles were such nice birds eating only fish. I didn't know they went after cute little ducks.

They eat small dogs and cats and squirrels too
This shot was captured on the Union River in the center of Ellsworth Maine. Viewing from a parking lot, a banking in the way of me seeing it hit the water for the catch, I was only able to get shots of it carrying the duck and of it eating the duck on the other side of the river.
