An exercise....

Re-visited an exercise in which I looked for a smaller scene in a full image.
From Oct '19, this is the Dechambeau Hotel and the I.O.O.F. Hall in the state park and mining ghost town of Bodie, CA.
As I looked at the full image (I'll share in the comments) I was drawn to the brick/wood joint of the two buildings and the stairway cut in between.
Cropped quite heavily for a completely new feel to the scene. At least that was my hope.

The juxtaposition of the more permanent brick with the less permanent wood is striking.

I like the was the new crop places emphasis on how much the wooden structure is sagging vs. the brick. The decaying staircase has more character in the closer crop and you can see the interesting transition between the concrete walkway in front of the brick building vs. the boardwalk in front of the IOOF structure.

I like the crop Barry! Good job spotting this one for a rework. I like the tighter look, that stairway is something else!
