As the name implies it's a park on a peak by the coast.
Although it's not really a peak, it's just where the land rises up away from the beach. There are trails that run just outside of this going into the hilly area down to Laguna Hills (by Laguna Beach) and also connects in the west with Crystal Cove State Beach.
It was super windy out. The temperature was 48 degrees, but with the wind blowing really strong I wouldn't have been surprised if the windchill hadn't knocked it down to being in the 30's. But the wind was awesome for moving the clouds.
This was done with all in camera timelapse, I had the D850 and D810 on Shutter priority at 1/500th of a sec I believe with a 1 sec interval. They both have Exposure Smoothing in the cameras, so they work great set up this way. MY D610 is a lot older and doesn't have it, so I had that set up in total manual so as to not get any flickering.
In hindsight, I should have set up one of the cameras facing east as the clouds in that direction were also moving great and the sunset colors hitting that direction were out of this world. I did move one of the cameras over there later but most of the color had faded by then.
By far this is best cloud movement I have gotten here in California, it's supposed to be windy again, so hopefully I can get some more.
2 Versions here, 1080p and 4k. I want to see if I can see any difference in playback.
