A nice cluster of Arrow-Leaf Balsamroot at Riverside State Park in Spokane Washington. From a springtime visit a several years back.

Hey Alan! That's a great display, and I like that cleaner forest floor there. And I like how the Balsamroot stands out from the forest floor, like they are reflecting more light then the ground.

I don't want to start off a flurry of cropping ideas, but I do think cropping the rock out at the bottom and going with a pano crop really strengthens this image.

Thanks Jim - I think of the Ponderosa forest floor east of the Cascades as being somewhat naked compared to the wetter west side. I thought about a pano crop but kind of liked the extra pine cones down in front. I did add an edit with a 16:9 crop which does clean up the relatively empty space down in front.
