Among the clouds

Taken almost a month ago around when the moon was almost full from my front porch with my IR modified RX100. It was taken handheld on a whim. The auto ISO bumped all the way to 6400. Anyway I just processed this. I kind of like it since a longer exposure would have made the moon into an oblong.

Well, this looks super cool Jameel! It has a very artsy feel. Sure the ISO 6400 causes a few issues, but if one just takes in the image as art and pixel peeping this is fantastic I think. I really like how the moon is lighting up the clouds.

One of the cool things with IR, at least for me so far, is I really don't always know what to expect. I guess in time that will change, but for now I would never have guessed this was an IR image.

I wonder.... since the moon is reflecting sunlight, is there low level IR being reflected off of it too?

Thanks Jim. Not sure what the reason is, I feel like where there isn't enough IR energy, the resulting images tend to look more like visible light.

Not certain I would have guessed this was an IR image at all if you hadn't mentioned it. Nice result.
Thanks Alan.

Very neat result, I even see and in focus star, good for hand held
Thanks Ben. Good eye to spot that lone star in the image.
