Almost Dusk

Going through some B&W's in Lightroom, this reminded me of the last time I was down at Seal Beach.
Not sure 100% about the composition.

Summer along a beach. I like the processing in this shot for the range of light and crisp details. With this light angle the silhouetted people work well for the scene.

Very nice Dave! I think the composition is perfect, you have some waves coming in, you have the person bracing against the water or perhaps he is wake boarding, but either way the angle of his body flows perfectly with the incoming water. The sun has been handled well, the clouds are bridging nicely across the scene. And I actually like the seaweed. Shooting at the beach as often as I do, I have found that seaweed can look cool in person, but usually translates to a distraction when included in a photograph, but not in your scene. With it being in the corner like it is, the seaweed helps to mask the footprints along the beach.

So I give this an A+

Thanks ! I didnt even think about it when I was shooting it, but afterwards I was glad that I had shot in Raw, I was able to bring down the highlights and bump the shadows a little..

The composition works. I like the leading line of the surf that takes the viewer by the swimmers and on around to the setting sun.

I like the people's dark silhouettes in the foreground, if it was mine, I would dodge the sun's reflection on the water/sand and make it brighter.
