Now I am tempted: should I convert my Pentax K-01 to a dedicated Astro, or IR camera ? I think Koala company do many of the conversions.

If you want to do both, then have it converted to Full Spectrum. Then you can buy additional filters that are UV for Astro, or an IR filter for whatever wavelength you want. I didn't go to that because I didn't want to deal with having to use filters. If you had a Canon, one nice thing is they have an adapter that takes filters. That's the painless way to do it. But for most other cameras, the filter screws on the lens. So then depending on what lenses you use, you need different filters.
If it was me, I would convert that K1 to an astro camera with the HA filter installed on the sensor. Then buy a used camera and get it converted to IR, I prefer 590nm. Again, Full Spectrum is an option, I just don't like having to have filters I have to screw on, I like that it's converted to the wavelength I wanted (590nm) and then I am done. 590nm to me is the most versatile. Lot's of guys like the 720nm, but I find that too restricive. At 590nm you can make it look like 720nm simply in processing.
