It's amazing how these Bristlecone Pines survive, and survive for so long in such a harsh environment. From the moment I saw this with those clouds I had thought B&W. I don't think I even have a color version except for the raw image.

That's the proper approach for the Bristlecones, Jim. This is wonderful. Especially if it is that popular tree along the Discovery Trail at the Schulman grove that everyone shoots but not as well as you did here.
