After the Flood

The Fall colors fit only into the "ok" category last week in the Smokies, so I gravitated back to my first love, the streams. This is the West Prong Little Pidgeon River showing the results of debris carried down by recent rains. A sobering reminder that these streams can flood in minutes and then return to normal by the next day. Shooting the a6000 here, braced on a large rock tripod. Thanks for looking... Mike

Those don't really look like mediocre fall colors alongside this stream by any means but I gather you are used to a more grand scale of leaf colors. Nice setting - even if the stream can take on a more malevolent mood.

Hey Mike,

There is a nice taste of fall in the background of this. There are a lot of little details in this one that make this a delight.

I am also a stream loving ex fly fisherman. This is a lovely looking stream.

Thanks guys, I picked a location with optimum color. Although my ok rating is subjective, it’s based on a banner year last Fall. It’s still much better than we get here at home... Mike
