Ben, 12mb is the largest video we can support at this point. I am not sure how long of a recording that would be. Otherwise video's need to uploaded to Youtube and then linked here.

I am using a program called Movavi to edit my videos. It’s easy to use which I like and pretty powerful.

And I found out something on my D850 last night. Since I haven’t been using the movie mode on it, I was doing a bit of research, and I found the D850 can also do a Timelapse movie in camera like you mentioned you could do with your new Canon. See, I have only ever used the Timelapse “still” option, where it shoots a bunch of stills, and then I create the Timelapse in Photoshop from those stills. I think it’s more powerful then using the Movie mode, for one you can take any of the stills when you are not doing the Movie Timelapse and can then edit that as a stand alone still photo. It’s harder to do in the movie mode, and the resolution is not as good.

But it’s interesting to find out I can do it, so it’s maybe something I will try in the future.

I am not sure I have the timelapse using stills option, but will do further research. It would be fun to do a timelapse during sunset and have use the best for still images. Is it hard to create a timelapse from stills in photoshop?

You can just use the intervalometer to do a series of shots at specific time intervals and then build a timelapse out of them.

Page 244 in the manual. In addition to the ability to pick stills from the set, you can make upto a 8K video of the timelapse sequence. And of course all your images can be RAW or JPG.

I saved this to You Tube. Just a test. I also downloaded and installed Movavi and tried the free version. I managed to create a smaller video but not small enough for here. It does not seem to have any editing options for stuff like exposure of color. It does have provisions for adding music. I have thousands of downloaded pieces on Spotify, but they are not sharable. I need to explore free of low coast download sources that are also sharable.

Ben, worse case scenerio, you just use a Remote Release that has the Interval timer built in.

If it's at night and you are shooting 20 to 30 sec exposures, you simply lock in the remote release and there are your photos to stack later into a timelapse.

Hey Ben, you are getting there. Movavi does allow editing of the video's. You can increase saturation, contrast, etc. All of the normal basic edits.

Do you need the full version? I will play with it some more. My camera does have the time interval feature and it works.

I need to do a test and see just how many seconds a 12mb video is. Of course the resolution makes a difference too. Maybe see how much 25mb gives us if we bump up the size allowed.

Resolution, frames per sec, compression all determines the overall size. Best to just upload to YouTube and link it here.
