ACR Performance with CC 2020

I am seeing a significant performance degradation after upgrading to the latest CC suite. Specifically in ACR. I can move one slider and it takes seconds before being responsive to any other change. I couldn't find anything in the forums. Went through my settings and nothing jumps out. Tried both disabling and enabling the GPU - no noticeable difference.

Any suggestions on what else to try?

I haven't upgraded yet, and I think I will hold off for now.

One suggestion would be to totally delete it, and then reinstall it again.

I think I am updated, and don't seem to have a problem. The updates are automatic. What version is causing issues and I will check to see what mine is.

It is V 20.0.8

That’s the one I have. Looks like it’s specific to my config. I’ll try Jim’s suggestion and see.

It appears to be my desktop specific issue. I upgraded my laptop and it works fine there. I haven’t tried the uninstall reinstall yet.

Reviving this old thread. This issue returned with my new desktop and using ACR was testing my patience. Spent a few hours digging into this and finally found the issue - it has to do with Acronis True Image. One of the features of this product is called Active protection. The solution is to either turn it off or what I did - add Photoshop to the list of exceptions. It made a night and day change to how ACR works now.

Backup software is not the usual suspect for an application performance issue. Nice work teasing it out as the offending element.

I have that issue but don't have Acronix of any sort that I know of.
The Acronis active protection monitors process and supposedly examines their behavior for any malware etc. If you have other similar anti virus/anti malware software, try adding photoshop to their exception list and see if things improve.
