Neat shot - I like aerial views and this new generation of drones is doing a good job of convincing me that I want one. <shaking piggy bank>.....

Well.... I think a shot from up high over a city is probably going to end up looking like something for a travel brochure Jeffrey. And that isn't a bad thing. :)

That's a nice view of the coastline.

I was starting to warm up to the drone idea until yesterday as I was shooting at the beach and this guy kept flying is drone and dropping it down about 15 feet in front of me before buzzing it around and then coming back and dropping it 15 feet in front of me continually. So I ended up with barely a photo without a drone somewhere in my photo from sunset. It seemed pretty rude and definitely caused me to have some ill thought running through my mind.

This is really neat Jeffrey. Looks like you are having fun with your new toy. My hand eye coordination is not up to the task, so I will enjoy this as a spectator.

Nice shot Jeffery.

Sorry to hear about your drone encounter at the beach Jim. I'm working hard to avoid such situations myself - so far I've tried to fly mine where there are no other people around. I find the noise quite annoying and wouldn't be happy if I hiked or climbed to a secluded spot where I expected to find a little peace and quiet and had someone come up and buzz that area for an extended period without asking me if it bothered me. One of the reasons I got the drone I did is that it's supposed to be quieter than earlier generations. I'm a bit hard of hearing, but don't really notice it once it's about 400 ft. away.

Thanks Jim!

Yeah, the sound definitely gets annoying when it’s so close. And the encounter didn’t start well as I was out shouting enjoying the peace and quiet of the ocean waves only to out of no where here this annoying loud buzz. I look up and the drone is almost on top of me, less then 10 feet away.

I appreciate your effort not to infringe on other people’s enjoyment of the outdoors. I sure Jeffrey is the same, and rest of the guys with drones in here.

Along with safety, courtesy is really important to me. For images like this (which I made during my flight training), the aircraft is high enough that it can't be heard. However, I do want to get a lot closer to my subjects and that may not be too easy in the city. But, the reason I got the thing is to use it for imaging in the kinds of places I go that are WAY OUT THERE. Freedom to fly anywhere and take the time to position for the shot. Man, I need a road trip soon!
