That wall looks like it could use a coat of paint. OK.... maybe just a bit more than just paint.

They are. The whole town was build around the mines and isolated with asbestos. Look at the house on the left. You see the kind of fish skin surface ? This is asbestos coating. The Quebec government is investing a lot of money to renovate theses old houses.

Renovating/mitigating a house like the one on the left would be an incredible undertaking when you take into account trying to contain all of the asbestos dust that will get released. Ouch!
