A View Towards Portland

I launched my drone a couple of nights ago to check out the sunset and while waiting for the sun to drop to the horizon grabbed a few panorama sequences of the horizon in other directions. One of those sequences included the view south from my area in NW Vancouver looking towards downtown Portland. The skies were fairly clear so the view across the river valleys was better than usual. The foreground is the industrial west side of Vancouver leading towards the port docks along the Columbia that handle mostly bulk goods like wind turbine parts, grains, and automobiles.

Four panels at 168mm stitched in Lightroom. Best viewed on a wide monitor.

That's a very nice view Alan. It's funny though this looks like a fall color image! It's partly the low light I am guessing, but if Portland is like LA, it seems that in cities, the trees get all messed up with the seasons and when Fall actually is.

Thanks Jim - I noticed the hues on the trees while I was processing this. The sun angle is quite low with a bit of a yellow haze but that only partially contributes to the trees. In early spring when the leaves are first starting to appear there is a yellowish/red tint to them until they are fully out and green. Several of the trees are flowering fruit trees but those are mostly white blossoms which you see down in front in the shadows and appearing almost yellow just above that out in the oblique sunlight.
