I have spent a lot of time out along the Oregon coastline in the winter trying to position myself just to the edge of winter storms to score some nice clouds and lighting. Enough to know that it can sometimes take days of rainy windy weather to get one good sunset/sunrise so bring along a good library to keep yourself entertained between opportunities to shoot. I am very used to the notion of living on weather web pages trying to figure out where to go next to see if I can score. The notion of hanging out in one place getting great sky shows night after night is almost unheard of in the winter.
In this case the mold got broken and I scored two nights in a row with a chance for even more yet. I have a campsite directly above the beach that can't be reserved so I have already paid up for two more nights.
This is early in the sunset so colors aren't yet fully into the reds/magentas but rest assured there will be some coming since I stayed out on the beach until I need my flashlight to find the path back up the cliffs.
C&C always welcome.
