A Patch of Blue

A quick view of blue sky in the middle of a showery day in late October in the Oregon Coast range. It didn't last long but did offer up some additional patchy light on an otherwise gray day.

I do study maps along with using google earth to check out places with potential. I already have a laundry list of more roads and destinations in this particular part of the Oregon Coast Range that I haven't explored yet. That said for any given day down there the destination of the day is usually whatever my Rice Crispies tell me to do

Thanks Jim - that was the only patch of blue I saw that day and I wanted to include the tops of the firs above the hillside instead of whacking off the tops so it ended up in the scene.

Thanks - you definitely want to pick better weather than what I usually shoot in along this road. This is about as much open sky as I ever see in those hills during fall visits
