June was a rotten month for nice sunsets where I had a view of the mountains and some nice colors on the same night. July got off to a very nice start with thunderheads east of the Cascades pushing some high clouds over the Portland/Vancouver metro area and clear skies to the west to light up the colors and low altitude winds offering clear views. In this case I could see 4 volcanos from over my house with Mt. Hood, Mount Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and the top of Mt. Rainier all visible. I couldn't squeeze them all into a single frame so Mt. Hood got its own shot.
Mt. Hood at 166mm:
The other 3 volcanos - the top of Mt. Rainier is just to the left of Mt. St. Helens. It's just over 90 miles away so I don't have the kind of open view of the mountain like folks up in the Puget Sound area have. Three panels at 70mm.
C&C always welcome.
