A Famous Outlaw Lived Here

Wow...that building has been standing a long time. Great looking scenery to go along with the history.

I like it - a simple rural scene from the past. Quite nondescript when you think about how many old cabins like that are scattered around Utah. This one likely garners more attention that most given the context of who lived here .....

Thanks! It's one of my more memorable Utah images because of the travel and time it took to find this place.

It does, and in the past was subject to vandalism and theft of mementos. Story goes, that many years ago the relatives had made it a little museum and charged to go inside. On night someone came by and took everything, and that was that. Fortunately, it is still in a very "off the beaten path" part of Utah, and is pretty non-descript unless you knew what to look for. A key is a certain stand of trees that are there, and there is an old iron box that you were supposed to put a quarter in or what change you had... But now, it's like most of these old cabins - photogenic on the outside and rat infested on the inside... Best appreciated from a distance.

Hey Craig,

That is a cool thing to track down. A very nice photo, I like it with the snow.
