A Couple in Spirit of the Holiday

From my first excursion with a DSLR outside the country, way back in 2006, a couple from St. Peter's Basilica. It was hard not to get thousands of people in every shot, but I managed to find a few compositions that avoided the crowds. Comments and critiques welcome.

The first shot is neat for all of the different sources of light in the structure and how they highlight the various features of the Basilica. Interesting shot of the dome.

Thanks! Yes, the first shot is almost like a demonstration of how white balance affects an image, as the different color temperatures are quite evident.
