    The recipe #43-Detail

The interior of a tiny but very interesting chapel in a small fishing village on the Meni peninsula Greece. Couldn’t resist taking this image as I wouldn’t normally photograph church interiors.

    Happy Easter.

My goal this Easter Sunday was to capture an image of a butterfly in flight. When Jan spoke with our daughter back in the UK think she conjured up an image of a doddering 70 year old with a butterfly net. Happy Easter all.

    Subalpine Warbler.

Another first for us this trip. A Subalpine Warbler being very accommodating to the camera this afternoon. We’re on lockdown here in Greece so it’s even more of a pleasure when nature starts to make spring known to us with a variety of wildlife turning up.

    Swallowtail Butterfly.

Didn’t have far to go today to watch these pretty butterflies. Swallowtails are my favourite species of butterflies and could sit and watch them for hours as we did today. Makes being confined to barracks a pleasure.

    Church among the Olive trees.

The early evening light catches this12th century church of the virgin Zoodochos Pege. It’s a beautiful example of Byzantine architecture set in a picturesque valley of olive trees in the Pelopennese. I was drawn by the mass of daisies surrounding it along with the view down through the trees...
