OK, this is an experiment. After processing all my travel photos I went ahead and upgraded my C1 12 to C1 20 (with free upgrade to 21). I've been bouncing around the new version and found some built in Styles and Presets. I was not aware that there were any free ones built in. But regardless...
This one is also from my recent trip. It is the Salmon River and Sawtooth Mountains with some of Lower Stanley in view. I actually stayed in a cabin on the river, located just in front of the bridge and properties on the right.
During my brief stay in Stanley, ID I explored Redfish Lake among other areas. Both of these photos show the Sawtooth Mountains over Little Redfish Lake. Having never been there before I scrambled to do some research on the area. I ended up parking in a turnout and then hiking back into a closed...
Today I had my third trip of the year cancelled. It was going to be the north rim of the Grand Canyon Sept 1. I'll just say I'm tired of this BS and it better end soon.
Does anybody know when and where the colors tend to run in Utah? I'm flexible to travel but have never been there to see...
I've not been there as an adult and was hoping to get some guidance.
Due to the lack of visitors I understand that the wildlife (but specifically bears including cubs) are much more visible/active in the parks now. I understand that the bears tend to be more active in the meadows this time of...
I took this photo back in February at Bolsa Chica. It was a good day as the Osprey finally did more than sit there while I watched him. During about a 40 minute wait he stretched his wings a few times and finally launched. As you can see, my vantage point was head on.
I decided I wanted the...
I'm still having fun with my new Tamron 100-400. Yesterday I went with a group of photographers to the LA Zoo. I had a blast and captured some pleasing (for me) close ups I couldn't otherwise acheive without a longer lens. This Mandrill is quite colorful. I shot this through a cyclone fence but...
I was out again at Bolsa Chica ER today. The light was terribly harsh and my talent on the thin side. But I found this Osprey just on his way back from a fishing trip. Not as sharp as I would have liked but this was one of the sharpest.
There was a crow who kept following the Opsprey wanting...
I finally purchased a birding lens. Nothing fancy but a Tamron 100-400 paired with a Nikon D7200. Something I can actually carry around and not hurt myself with it.
The lens showed up Thursday, I was out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday practicing. Uh, I'm gonna need a lot more practice. LoL!
But...
I've got quite a few photos from here and don't always even visit on every trip to the park. This was one of those trips where I had not even stopped once in the first 4 days. Conditions weren't that good and I was content to bypass it. But the weather forecast changed causing me to forego my...
I recently returned from a trip to visit the redwoods. This photo was taken just outside the visitor center while driving the Avenue of the Giants. I stopped to collect some info. While wandering about I almost got swallowed by this creature. Fortunately, I lived to complete my trip. :-)
I've been the last 6 years in a row. I'm trying to plan and book lodging for this year. I like to stay in the June Lake/Lee Vining area and catch the colors as they come down to the lower elevations. (JL Loop, Lee Vining Canyon, Lundy Canyon, Conway Summit, etc) In past years I've started my...
When I first composed this photo I liked how the dogwood tree and the waterfall lined up. Since then, the more I look at it, it's starting to look like a fashion faux pas. Thoughts?
I was in Yosemite from Sunday until Thursday. I'm just getting started on reviewing all my photos but thought I'd share a dogwood or two as I progress.
I've posted this photo here before in the landscape category since I had processed it in color. Matt Kloskowski used this photo in his just released Landscape course. He used it specifically to show off the B&W presets that are available in the current version of Lightroom. He didn't actually...
I was digging through some older photos and ran across this one. It is from a trip in 2014. It wasn't pre-planned but it turned out I was there probably the day before the full moon. As such, I caught the moon rising at the end of the day.
The weather finally cooperated and I made it to the park this past Wednesday and Thursday. I never get tired of photographing the Chapel and this time was no exception.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
