I'm heading out Sunday for a road trip. I had this trip scheduled for April, but well, you know what happened!!😭
I'll be running through Northern New Mexico up into Southern Utah and maybe spend a day or two around Moab.
Will then head up to Wyoming to hopefully see some fall color around the...
Anticipating my next trip out west in a few weeks and was perusing some older folders. I found one I had completely forgotten about.
Wild night at Pickthorne Lake. 6-23-20.
24 mm, iso 100, 0.5 sec, f/9.
Went back Sunday afternoon to the old cotton gin at Keo, AR for a few more small scenes/abstracts.
The shed and car port the above was abstracted from.
Detail from a blower/air cleaner assembly
The entire complex
After running a couple errands this morning late, I noticed the sky was full of some really cool clouds! So I stopped off at Pickthorne Lake to see what I could come up with.
The bright harsh mid-day sunlight meant this one was destined for b&w.
Two shot, up and down, pano.
Very pleasant, read...
OK, I've been wanting to shoot Comet Neowise, as everybody has.
I think it's fading fast so I'm glad we finally had a clear enough night to catch it.
Sharp eyes will notice the vivid green in the head of the comet. I could even see that in the camera's rear lcd screen! And I liked the airliner...
Ok, final two from my two-weeks-ago outing to the cotton gin facility at Keo. I know you all are happy to hear that!! 😁
Sun softly breaking through the mostly cloudy morning put some neat contrast on the corrugated fiberglass in this building.
Two compositions of the same scene. I think I like...
Here are a few more from my outing to the old cotton gin facility in Keo, AR a couple weeks ago. (I know, I know....)
Anyway, more corners, doors, windows and textures. The overcast morning kept the light nice and soft for me.
...my explorations last Monday morning at Keo.
These are on the opposite wall from the previous 2 shots, in the lee of the morning sun and under an overhang so the red paint is more preserved and the weathering limited.
The lower right corners of two different doors, both with some discarded...
Last Monday morning at Keo, I found another interesting door. This one was under an overhang, so the weathering and fading aren't as prevalent. The camera was carefully leveled so this also shows the effects of settling in the old structure.
A few more from last Monday morning at Keo.
Studies in corners and textures of old weathered wood, with a little rust thrown in for good measure.
(a few more yet to come.)
Arose early this morning and went searching for corners. or windows and doors, or weathered textures. Wound up with all of the above, in various combinations. :-)
Small scenes at the Keo cotton gin facility in the overcast first hour of this day.
#1.
Took the Wayback machine to Dec '07!
Driving north on 395 toward Lone Pine for a couple days shooting with a friend.
The Inyo Mtn's had a nice little cap of snow that showed out nicely in the evening light, and the colorful anti-twilight in the sky further added to the mood of the scene. I can't...
