4 hours of 5 min subs taken 2 nights ago though poor transparency. I was pleasantly surprised of the nebula detail with such poor conditions
Plan is to add more data and the stars back as soon as the clouds leave me alone lol
Original taken Christmas Eve 2022. Just reprocessed to try to sharpen the colors.
This year I will try my hand at a mosaic for the 1st time to capture the entire nebula.
So in my astrophotography kit, I have various options to power my scope dew heaters, but I'm wondering how you power a dew heater on a stand alone dslr? Equipment recommendations please.
Thanks in advance
So I took this in Oct of last year, and never really happy with the processing so I reprocessed this morning and I think it came out a little better than in the past
Taken with the SV SVX102 and the ASI533MC
Open to all comments as I still have only been doing this less than 2 years and...
Taken last night with about 6 hours of 5 min subs.
SV SVX102, ASI2600 mc, EQ6R Pro, Asiair. Antilia ALP-T 5nm filter. Average seeing, poor transparency, bortle 6 skies. Heavy Crop
This nebula never ceases to fascinate me with all its details and colors.
I was imaging my imaging of nebula NGC7023 (that English)? lol
All tips and suggestions are welcome, I am new at this. Clouds rolled in toward the end so I stopped the process about 20 min early
Thanks

Welp, this is the results of last night endeavors. Rarely captured DWB111 the Propeller nebula
Salvaged 5 hours of 5 min subs. Used my new Antlia ALP-T 5 nm filter.
Which rendition do you prefer? Same data set (or nether and I need to go back to the drawing board?)
All comments welcome
I originally took and processed this is Feb of 2023 but was not that happy with its palette, then I saw Mike Lewis's rendition which I thought was excellent and I was inspired to redo mine
His is still superior and mine has a more sinister look
The 1st original image was taken and processed around 10/20/22, Cloudy skies = boredom so using the same data I reprocessed today using some new techniques to see if I have improved any? Which I think I have? Anyway......
Question for all the astro imagers on FW, what's your opinion of...
So in my processing hast on my original image, I accidentally deleted my starfield image. Ooops.
So I had to reprocess the whole thing and I took the opportunity to add a bit more color as well as the stars.
Too much color?
For my little scope which is at 730 focal length, this image is a...
So this image was taken with the new Altila filter but I really didn't expect much as I had less than 3 hours of 5 min subs and shooting with poor seeing due to smoke in the upper atmosphere.
So I was surprised it can out as well as it did. Didn't spend too much time with post processing as I...
So I wanted to try my new Altila 5nm dual band filer on the NGC6910 Butterfly nebula and it didn't disappoint.
I had just under 6 1/2 hours of 5 min exposures with the new filter
Looking to start using Photoshop, and looking at the Elements package, which is attractive as its a one cost of 150 and my local tech school offers instructor lead training with the Elements package.
Recommendations on Elements? I am not a pro, and barely be considered an amature, but looking...
FINALLY!
Taken last night. Started out with (80) 5 min subs but due to random clouds throughout the night, salvaged 47 so considering just under 4 hours, I thought this came out pretty well.
Plan to add more data this summer/fall if the weather plays nice. Considering it's been so long, I...
So my son made this video of the 2 of us forging a tomahawk in my workshop. My other hobby along with astrophotography.
(150 years difference in timelines lol)
Although I have forged many knives, this was a 1st tomahawk! And from a rr spike no doubt.
I think the video came out better...
So I have only had (1) good night since March to take any astrophotography which is pretty much captured in this latest image.
Perhaps my luck will change tonight? Wish me luck!
Test, take one, 4 1/2 hrs w/5 min subs, taken 6/26 with the Stellarvue 102R, 2600mc, & the Optolong L-Extreme filter. Take 2 will be with the same target but using my new Antlia ALP-T Narrowband filter. I had to buy a 2nd narrow band filter for my new portable kit so I went for broke...
Lots of fresh markets
I forget the name of this tree, but it looked interesting, and old.
Windmill used to grind sea salt. We toured a sea salt harvesting operation that was built in the 1600's and still is operatinal today.
Located on the far western coast of Sicily. Its said various...
One day I will get this one right, but till then, this will have to do.
6 hours or 3 min subs taken last night.
Equipment used in this capture:
Stellarvue Telescope SVX102 Raptor
ZWO 2600 MC Pro one shot color camera cooled to -4F @ 101 gain
Skywatcher EQ6R Pro Mount
Optolong L-Pro 2” narrow...
