Zero to Twenty inches in 12 Hours

After watching the weather forecast and planning for over a week, I made the journey to Sequoia NP in the western Sierra Nevada last week to see the big trees. Got there Tuesday afternoon, cold and breezy as the skies churned above, preparing to drop snow. A nice late day hike thru the Giant Forest yielded the first image here, and the next morning is shown in the second one. Then the entire forest was just trees and snow, nothing else to photograph. Don't ask how many I photographed over two days, camping in the expedition vehicle as the snow total surpassed 30". The entire experience was glorious.

So awesome Jeffrey! Had you gone there with the hope of snow or were you surprised? Either way that snow is so awesome. And it's super cool to see the same composition in 2 different conditions.

Congrats on the Daily Featured Post Jeffrey!

Thanks, Jim. I monitored the weather to the hour and knew exactly what was coming and when. Amazingly the forecast was spot on with timing and quantity. I wanted get there before the deluge. I love seeing it start and build up.

I agree, there is just something cool about watching a snow storm come and start to dump the snow. It's a beautiful sight for sure.

Wow! Great vehicle and thanks for the nice pics of it in action. Did you buy it as is or have it customized yourself? I'd also love to see some interior shots. We had a Chevy Express van we had customized into a very simple but user friendly camping van which we happily used for almost exactly twenty years. Just sold it last week to one of my best friend's son. We are going with a Ram 3500 4x4 and a Northern Lite camper, which should arrive I a couple weeks as our X-mas present.
