Sunset Reflection

I was on the road last week and went out to try and capture an image for a new commission I am working on...but the spot I wanted to get to was covered in 4 feet of heavy surf due to an abnormally high tide...so I back tracked and went to a spot I had seen on the way in that was under water from that high tide. It faced west, so I got the last of the good light...just barely. I guess it was better to get something rather than nothing.

Thats a really nice "something" to walk away with - lovely colors and clouds. The color in the reflection rivals the primary show in the sky.
Thanks Alan. I think I was so set on capturing a particular image that I was a bit too disappointed to not even have a chance at it...but I really didn't want to make the 75 minute drive back with only an OOF picture of a Heron to show for my efforts!

Very nice Travis, if you don't say anything about missing your first spot, I won't, this is awesome as it is.
HAHA Ben, that is funny. It is interesting, I think sometimes I don't mind sharing some of the frustrations or failures...because it happens to everyone. And if I can show that I don't get too down about it, and keep going, then maybe someone else won't be frustrated when their outing isn't perfect...so many photographers have this aura about them that its always epic when they go out...when in reality...its not. That can be frustrating to someone learning, I know that it was for me at some point.

This is really cool. Good job on the quick thinking Travis! I like the color you got.
Thanks Jim. Always keeping my eyes open for options.

you definitely got something! well done, esp. under the circumstances.
Thank you!
