Our Focus this Friday is on Mountains!

Please add your photos of mountains to this thread.

Mine is from the Dallas Divide. There hadn't been any fresh snow with the fall colors and I had left and gone down to New Mexico when I heard that it was snowing, so I turned back around and drove back to Colorado to the Dallas Divide to shoot the sunrise with the fresh snow. It was cool because it was a clearing storm, and those are so fun to shoot. I didn't stay too long because I had already planned to be in the Eastern Sierra 2 days later to meet up with more of our FocalWorld community. So it was back on the road after this storm cleared out.

I can't compete with your huge mountains, this is Blencathra (2848 ft) at sunset with nice side lighting. Still no snow this year but the long range forecast has the jetstream flicking South and this brings cold winds from the North so maybe in a week or so. Weather forecasting here on the Western edge of Europe is very tricky all it takes is a front moving a few degrees in any direction to radically change things. Last week saw a front from the North pass down the Sea between Britain and Norway, we missed everything but when it hit the Alps it dropped 6 ft of snow in 2 days and 17 people died due to it. Perhaps it is the same with all maritime climates. Ken

Thanks for starting a thread on my all-round favorite subject Jim. As many of you know I've been climbing mountains around the world my whole life and have quite a library of slides, and now digital images, chronicling those adventures.
